What are the modes of transportation within Baguio City?
Jeep and taxi as transportation |
Taxi is the best mode of transportation unless you really know the roads and jeepney routes in Baguio City. There are jeepneys, both traditional and modern, that circle around Baguio City but to be honest it’s easier to just hail a taxi if you want to go somewhere far. If you’re accommodation is in the city proper, every essential places like restaurants, cafes, drugstore, and shops are within walking distance.
I’ve lived in Baguio City during my intern and the only jeepney route that I was able to memorize is the Trancoville route because we have to report on Sunstar Baguio office. Whenever I’m there for travel, I seldom use a jeepney because I don’t know where to get off.

Baguio is the Summer Capital of the Philippines for a reason. It is typically cold in Baguio City but the coldest months would be around December to February, while April to June is the hottest months, and July to September is the wettest months due to the rainy season and typhoons.

2D1N Baguio Itinerary: Day 1
07:00 AM Arrival: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
Arrival varies depending on where you are coming from, as for me I’m from Tarlac which is about a 3-4 hour bus ride. The earliest trip to Baguio is at 3 AM, just in time for breakfast.
Since the accommodation's usual check-in time is at 11 AM, you can grab some breakfast first. There are cafes and restaurants in Baguio City that open very early.
06:30 AM Breakfast at Botanical Garden: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
Baguio Botanical Garden by Pillora Kevin |
We wanted a nice view for our breakfast and we decided to go to the Botanical Garden since they have a nice cafe that opens at 8 AM. And from there we can also re-visit the Botanical Garden since it’s been years since I last went there.
Cafe de Fleur Botanical Garden has a roof deck seating area that gives you an overview of the Botanical Garden. They serve pastry and coffee, you should try their lavender-flavored coffee! They often have coffee workshops.
Baguio Botanical Garden is one of the most visited places in Baguio City. It was established in 1910 during the American occupation and was intended to spotlight the region’s flora. You’ll see different kinds of flowers and trees and a perfect place for you to stroll.
Baguio Botanical Garden has an entrance fee of Php100 per head and is 4KM away from Gov Pack bus station. You can just ride a taxi going to the Botanical Garden. It is located near Wright Park and the Teacher’s Camp.
10:00 AM Wright Park: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
Wright Park by Gray Fox |
Wright Park is just a 9-minute walk from the Baguio Botanical Garden. If you see people post about them riding the horses and ponies, this is where that is.
Wright Park is free for everyone, you just have to pay for certain activities like riding a horse and taking pictures with them. It has picnic tables where you can eat and chill.
It has two very beautiful walkways that are separated by a canal and is perfect for a walk. When you reach the end of the canal walkway, you will see The Mansion.
11:00 AM The Mansion Presidential Museum: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
For years, The Mansion has been closed to the public. It is the official summer palace of the president of the Philippines. It was opened to the public just this year so you better check this out.
Before you can only see a glimpse of it from the outside but they now offer guided tours inside. The tour is free but you have to book it at least 3 days prior to your desired visit. The tours run from 9AM to 11AM and 1PM to 3PM everyday except mondays and holidays. Each tour has a total of 30 minutes
You can book your free tour at The Mansion website.
12:00 PM Lunch at Mamita’s Bulaluhan: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
There are a lot of restaurants near The Mansion that you can choose from, most are walking distance.
We went to Mamita’s Bulaluhan because it is the nearest diner from the Mansion. After walking from Botanical Garden to The Wright Park, and The Mansion tour we decided that we need to rest our feet from all the walking.
Mamita’s Bulaluhan serves a la carte dishes that are good for 2-3 pax. They have unlimited refill of Bulalo soup.
01:30 PM Vanilla Cafe: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
After our lunch, we decided to grab some coffee at Vanilla Cafe. It is a 9-minute walk from Mamita’s Bulaluhan. Vanilla Cafe offers coffees, pastries, pizza, chicken, fries, and fresh strawberries.
It’s a glass house with a Bridgerton aesthetic. Their furniture is baroque style, they have cute tea sets, flowery tables, and they even have a beautiful area with a pool and ping-pong table.
02:00 PM Check-In: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
So we head back to the city center to check in on our accommodation. Since we don’t want to pay an additional fee and we just packed light, we just carry our stuff with us.
Some accommodations allow you to leave your belongings in the reception area free of charge, but we rented a condo unit on Airbnb and they charge for it.
By default, it is best to book an accommodation near the city center. It is accessible and most establishments are walkable within the city proper.
After we settled in, we decided to take a rest since we will be out later for dinner and some night food crawl.
06:00 PM Chill at SM: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
So we decided to visit SM Baguio and just chill there. Our accommodation is just a 9-minute walk from SM. We wanted to grab some snacks and just chill in a shop with a view on the balcony.
07:00 PM Dinner at Pizza Volante: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
We decided to dine at Pizza Volante in SM Baguio. Pizza Volante serves mediterranean food and has three branches in Baguio City. You can dine in their Wright Park branch, SM City Baguio branch, and in their Camp John Hay branch.
Their tenderloin steak and pasta is good! And for their pizza, you can always request whether you like it in regular or thin crust. Their apple pies are must-try as well.
09:00 PM Night Market: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
After having our dinner and just right before SM Baguio closes, we started our travel and walk going to Harrison Road where the very famous Night Market is. It opens every 10PM to 4AM and you can buy street foods, ukay-ukay, RTWs, and even souvenirs.
While walking to the Night Market, we passed by Visco’z on Session Road and we tried their ice cream! It was freezing and we still got ice cream for fun. I tried their pistachio and it’s so good.
10:00 PM Head back to accommodation and rest: Baguio Itinerary Day 1
So for this Baguio Itinerary, sleep and rest is important for us so our bed time is very early. We don’t want to party or anything. We just need our bed time.
Whatever, called us old or something we don’t mind.
2D1N Baguio Itinerary: Day 2
Baguio Itinerary Day 2- 07:00 AM Breakfast at Tam-Awan Village Cafe: Baguio Itinerary Day 2
Tam-Awan Village Cafe is located in Tam-Awan Village in Pinsao Proper, Baguio City. We just rode a taxi to go there since we’re not really familiar with the jeepney route.
The village has an entrance fee of Php 100 for adults, Php 80 for seniors and students, Php 70 for 4-10-year-olds and below, and free for 3-year-olds and below.
We have limited time since we are staying for just two days in Baguio. So for our Day 2 of our 2D1N Baguio Itinerary, we decided to just go to Tam-Awan Village instead of Igorot Stone Village since it is more culturally appropriate based on our research.
What we love about Tam-Awan Village is that it is a place where you’ll learn about the tradition of our Cordilleran people. They held regular ceremonies that you can participate or just roam around the village and check out their crafts. Tam-Awan Village is open from 7AM to 6PM everyday.
10:00 AM Check Out: Baguio Itinerary Day 2
After our visit to the Tam-Awan Village, we decided to head back to our accommodation since our check out is at 11AM. We rode in a taxi going back to our accommodation.
11:00 AM Brunch at Ili-Likha Artists' Wateringhole: Baguio Itinerary Day 2 2024
We head to Ili-Likha Artishts’ Wateringhole to grab some food and check out their place. We decided to just walk since it is just a 10-minute walk from SM Baguio. It has a quirky design and reminds you of your tree house made of scrap material you created in your childhood.
They serve coffees, juices, salads, chips, probiotic drinks, and vegan burgers.
01:00 PM Baguio Museum: Baguio Itinerary Day 2
After our brunch we decided to visit the Baguio Museum. It is located on Gov Pack and has an entrance fee, Php 100 for adults, Php 70 for college students, Php 60 for high school, Php 40 for elementary students, and Php 50 for senior citizens and PWDs.
Baguio Museum is small but you’ll know more about the culture. This is a must for every history buff.
02:00 PM Museo Kordilyera, UP Baguio: Baguio Itinerary Day 2

So we decided to kill some time on the famous Session Road. There are a lot of cafes and shops in the area and if you happen to be in the area on a Sunday, it is closed for vehicles and you’ll see different artists.
We grabbed our snacks from the Guest Haven Cafe. They have coffee and pastry and they have a nice location. They are have an overlooking view so make sure to grab the seat in the window area.
