Store hours: 7AM to 6PM
Address: Zamora Street, San Roque, Tarlac City

If you want something traditional and local for your breakfast in Tarlac City, Betty’s Native Cake is the best for you.

Betty’s Native Cake is a local shop in Tarlac that is popular for their native cakes. They are known for their kakanin. They sell different types of kalamay, ginataang bilo-bilo, lumpiang gulay, and even have rice meals on their San Roque branch.

The business took off when Betty Junio started selling Filipino snacks in 1972 in Tarlac public market. Betty’s Native Cake branches in Tarlac City are located in San Miguel, Sto. Cristo, Downtown Market, SM Tarlac, Magic Star, and in San Roque.

I personally love their San Roque branch since they open very early and they have dine in capacity. The place gives off Central Perk from Friends’ vibes! It is ideal for breakfast, meeting up with friends, or even working space since they also have wifi and cozy seats!

Their San Roque branch is accessible and commute-friendly! It is along ‘TSU’ jeepney route in front of San Roque Parish Church.

A common Filipino tradition is having kalamay for every occasion. So every Christmas or New Year, make sure to get your own very early because they get lots of orders. Their prices for a bilao is around ₱350-₱500 depending on what kind of kalamay.

If you are wondering where to eat in Tarlac City, don’t forget to try Betty’s Native Cake and their kalamay!

My personal favorite from their drinks is their Horchata!! Yes, double exclamation mark. Sabado Ground’s bestseller Horchata is a drink made from rice milk and cinnamon.
